Guitar lessons in Gràcia
At the Nico Sánchez Guitar Academy I teach guitar lessons in Barcelona (in the Gràcia neighbourhood) and online, with structured musical training. The goal is not just to learn songs, but to build a solid foundation in technique, musical language and harmony, following content equivalent to that of official music curricula.
I teach every lesson myself, as a private teacher, adapting the programme to your level and situation (work, family, studies), always within a clear syllabus, with defined goals and regular tracking of your progress.
If you are a beginner, don't worry. I will teach you from scratch, so you can build a solid technical and theoretical foundation. If you already play, I will help you refine your technique, develop your creativity and improve your playing.
In short, in my guitar lessons for children and adults in Barcelona you will find a place to learn, enjoy and share your passion for music.
Long live music!

A plan for every starting point
Guitar lessons for beginners: starting from scratch
If you have never played a guitar, we start at the very beginning: how to hold the instrument, where to put your hands, how to get a good sound and how to read your first rhythms and chords. You don't need any experience or “special talent”, just consistency and the will to learn.
From the first lesson we follow a programme designed for beginners, where each session builds on the last. The goal is for you to play your first songs within a few weeks, understanding what you are doing and building a solid base to keep growing.
Guitar School for Adults
Many people think learning the guitar only makes sense if you start as a child, but at the Nico Sánchez Academy in Barcelona I see every day that this isn't true.
I offer training and a syllabus designed specifically for adults, to fit around your work, your family and your pace of life. Whether you are starting from scratch or coming back to the guitar after years, we will follow a clear progression that combines technique, harmony and real repertoire, and avoids mechanical exercises with no context.
Electric Guitar Specialisation
The electric guitar needs a different technical approach from the Spanish guitar. Here you won't just learn songs; you will learn the language of modern music.
My specialisation programme follows the criteria of professional music education: we will go deeper into sight-reading, improvisation and style analysis (rock, blues, jazz). We will also work on your sound and gear: tone control, amplification and effects, so you understand your equipment like a professional.
It's the ideal course if you feel stuck, or if you want to really understand why what you play sounds good.

Frequently asked questions about the Nico Sánchez Guitar Academy
Can I learn guitar as an adult with little free time?
Yes. Most of my students are adults who juggle work, family and other commitments. The syllabus is designed to move forward in small but steady steps, adapting the pace to your availability without losing the structure of the training.
How long will it take to play my first songs?
It depends on how much you practise, but many students can play their first simple songs within a few weeks. From the start we combine basic technique, chords and rhythm, always within the programme, so you see real results without skipping the fundamentals.
Do you teach guitar to children?
Yes. I teach children from their very first steps, with a method adapted to their age and a progressive plan: rhythm, ear training, simple reading and coordination.
Can I prepare for entrance exams to music schools or conservatories?
Yes. If your goal is to get into a music school or conservatory, I adapt the syllabus to the specific requirements: technique, repertoire, reading and ear tests.
Is the training based on an official programme?
Yes. The academy focuses on complete musical training, not just a hobby workshop. We cover content found in official music curricula: instrumental technique, reading, musical language, basic harmony and progressive repertoire. What you learn here is compatible with studies at music schools or conservatories, and gives you a solid base to keep progressing in any academic setting.
